**Q1. What is the St. Kitts Citizenship by Investment (CBI) Program?**

*A1.* Launched in 1984, the St. Kitts CBI program offers qualified individuals and their families the opportunity to obtain the citizenship and passport of St. Kitts and Nevis in exchange for a significant economic contribution to the nation.

 

**Q2. Why should someone consider the St. Kitts CBI program?**

*A2.* Benefits include visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to over 150 countries, tax benefits, a stable political climate, and no residency requirement. The program also boasts swift processing times and confidentiality.

 

**Q3. What are the investment options for the CBI program?**

*A3.* there are two main pathways:

1.The Sustainable Growth Fund (SGF) option is immediately replaced by the Sustainable Island State

Contribution (SISC) option.

The Limited Time Offer for the SGF option originally extended to 3 l January 2024 is closed.

Any applicants wishing to obtain CBI via donation will need to make the following prescribed minimum

contributions pursuant to Reg 30(2) into the Federal Consolidated Fund:

Main applicant only: US$250,000

Main applicant and a spouse: US$300,000

Main applicant and one dependant: US$300,000

Main applicant, a spouse and one or two dependants; US$350,000

Main applicant and two or three dependants: US$350,000

Each additional dependant under 18: US$50,000

Each additional dependant aged 18 or over: US$75,000

 

2. Real Estate Investment Option - Reg 29

Pursuant to Reg 29(12), the minimum investment in a real estate unit in an Approved Development is

us$400,000.

The minimum holding period of 7 years remains unchanged. The real estate unit can be re-sold once

by the original purchaser.

 

3. Private Home Sale Investment Option - Reg 3l

Pursuant to Regulation 3l(8) the minimum investments for an Approved Private Home are:

(a) US$400,000 for a condominium unit; or

(b) US$800,000 for a single-family private dwelling

A CBI applicant cannot make a joint investment with another CBI applicant for the purchase of a

single Approved Private Home.

The minimum holding period is 7 years (reg 3l (16)(a)).

The Approved Private Home cannot be sold to another purchaser who wishes to acquire CBI unless the

Federal Cabinet is satisfied that substantial further investment was injected into the real estate unit by

way of further construction, renovation or otherwise (reg 3 I ( 1 6)(b)).

 

4. Public Benefit Option - Reg 32

Pursuant to Regulation 32(9) the minimum conhibution to a public benefit unit in an Approved Public

Benefit Project is US$250,000.

*A4.* The primary applicant must be at least 18 years old. Dependants, including spouse, children under 25 (under certain conditions), and parents  over 65, can also be included.

-No grandparents are allowed

In accordance with the 6 Principles Agreement made between the 5 Caribbean CBI Countries and the US on 25 February 2023,the CIU is implementing mandatory interviews.

Pursuant to Reg 25 the interview requirements are as follows:

 

(a) every main applicant in process shall attend an interview conducted by an independent professional firm commissioned by the Unit to perform background due diligence checks or by officials of the Unit, either:

(i) virtually;

(ii) in person in St Kitts and Nevis; or

(iiD in person at such other location approved by the Board ofGovernors;

 

(b) every main appticant who has not yet received his or her Certificate of Registration and has not yet been interviewed pursuant to sub-regulation (a), shall attend an interview conducted by an independent professional firm commissioned by the Unit to perform background due diligence checks or by officials of the Unit, either:

(i) virtually;

(ii) in person in St Kitts and Nevis; or

(iii) in person at such other location approved by the Board ofGovernors;

 

(c) a dependant of a main applicant in process aged l6 years or over may, if deemed necessary, attend an interview conducted by an independent professional firm commissioned by the Unit to perfonn background due diligence checks or by officials ofthe Unit, either:

(i) virtually;

(iD in person in St Kitts and Nevis; or

(iiD in person at such other location approved by the Board ofGovernors.

. The default is that interrriews will be conducted virtually

. The interviewee must attend the interview alone and answer questions directly, they cannot have a legal representative or other support person present or answer on their behalf

. The CIU will provide a certified translator to attend the interview in situations where the interviewee does not speak English/English is not their first language

In the interest of national security, defence and public safety of St Kitts and Nevis, every citizen of, and persons ordinarily resident in, the following countries shall be excluded from any application for CBI:

Afghanistan

Belarus

Iran

Iraq

North Korea

Russia

 

Q. What are the process steps?

A. Request Processing Steps:

  1. KYC (know your customer):
    1. is for initial security and check to make sure that the customer is illegible to apply for the program.
  2. Signing the contract between MI and the customer.
    1. The customer pays 5,000$ on signing contract.
  3. MI document experts will start supporting the customer to collect the documents.
  4. Customer provides MI with all the original documents.
  5. MI reviews the documents.
  6. MI ships the documents to the government unit for the Due Diligence process:
    1. The customer has to pay the Due Diligence fees before shipping the documents to the government unit.
  7. Within 4 month period the government will apply with the approval of the request.
  8. The customer has to transfer the rest of the amount.
  9. Within 70 days the customer will receive the nationality certificate.
  10. Within 30 days the customer will receive the passport
